Yesterday was Australia Day and we went to Docklands in the CBD to celebrate with the crowd. It was such a family-friendly event! There were face painting, balloon twisting and picture-taking with a Koala as activities for the kids as well as performers, bands, DJ and numerous stalls that kept the event abuzz!

Kimi fell in line to get his own balloon art! He got a turtle which he was so happy about that he bitten and munched on the ears repeatedly until the ears popped! Poor turtle.

Kimi also took a pic with one of the muscle-men. He was so engrossed he did not divert his gaze from the tall man! Maybe he was shocked to see that there can be a man as tall as that man!

We were not abe to take pictures with the koala as the line was already too long and we just wanted to savor in the scenery. Two years now living in Melbourne but this was my first time to see Docklands! Can you believe it? I know I can’t.

We just walked along the promenade looking for somewhere to eat, had dinner in Fukotontei Ramen in The District because how can you go wrong really with a hot bowl of ramen, gobbled our food and went back again in the promenade to see a huge crowd waiting for the fireworks. Good thing we brought a thick jacket for Kimi as it was getting chilly in there by the minute.

The fireworks was spectacular! The perfect-ender to Melbourne’s celebration of Australia Day.
