Project 365 Day 54: Dinner Ramen

Happy Mother’s Day to all super mommas out there! Yesterday had been quite a slow day for us. We heard the mass in the afternoon and just went for an early dinner of ramen, gyoza and karaage afterwards. Nothing fancy despite the special occasion.

Once a month, a Filipino mass is being held in the church that we are going to. This month, the mass coincided with the celebration of Mother’s Day. Before the final blessing, the priest asked all the moms to gather in front of the altar to be blessed. Almost half of the room stood and walked to the front. Once all of us were already there, a serenade from one of the choir members ensued and a few of the church staff began handing us flowers. The gesture was so simple but so sweet that I found myself getting teary-eyed. Being a mother is already a great thing in its known but to be appreciated and acknowledged for all the things that you do as a mother is beyond heartwarming.
