Project 365 Day 31: On Time

f/2.0, 1/60 sec, ISO 6400

Upon waking up today, I got my phone as I always do. I replied to messages I got while I was asleep. browsed through Instagram, watched some stories, scrolled on some posts until I can’t be bothered anymore to go on. Usually after this, I already get up, get out of bed, have a mini breakfast of milk and thoughts in the midst of silence and go about my day, ticking off tasks in my to-do lists until I call it a day. But earlier, before getting up, I happened to check as well my email. In my inbox, I found this post from the photography newsletter that I had been following for almost 2 months now and in it I noticed that they featured one of the photographers that is inspiring me now. He had a simple message and that message is to go back to basics. A lesson that has proved to be so helpful in getting me back on track. After I read his message, my perception has been renewed. It was as if I am seeing the world with a different lens. As I put my phone back on my bedside table and got up, I did not went directly to the kitchen to prepare myself a warm cuppa milk. Instead I went to the other bedroom, grabbed my camera and photographed away until the sun has unravelled and risen in its full glory, giving me enough time to savour the magic of light.
