Body-Fueling FAT in Forbes Town Center

METRO MANILA, PHILIPPINES. A breath of fresh air, FAT opened its doors last June 2015 adding to the burgeoning food destination that is Forbes Town Center located in Burgos Circle in BGC. Just when restaurants go for a more wholesome and lighter outlook, FAT evidently chose to head towards the other direction. Commendably does it remain true to its core and belief; that fat is anything but bad for anyone's health, especially if the fat was extracted from animals, and that it ought to be enjoyed and incorporated into foods making them both comforting and satisfying. That, evidently, has become its basis for the overall concept of the menu and the restaurant along with the fact that Chef Kel Zaguirre only makes dishes that he loves to have too. If there's anything that I have learned during my gastronomic experience in FAT, it is that food should be fully enjoyed. Disregard any guilt and know in your heart that there is nothing wrong in indulging on a little bit of FAT sometimes. A restaurant that everyone should watch out for, FAT is that restaurant that should not be left out from anyone's food-tripping bucket list.

Green Tea Chicharon   (Php 190) . My base dish. I literally kept coming back to this dish everytime I try-out the other dishes. Crunchy even after being left in the open for sometime this is one hella dish I recommend to anyone dining here. (House Made Chicharon / Honey Vinegar / Green Tea Salt)

Pork's Ear En Croute  ( Php 370 ). A levelled-up version of the loved Pinoy street food, this is already filling in itself. (Grilled / Herb Oil / Mango Mayo / Saffron Aioli / Sourdough / Pico de Gallo)

Grilled Unagi Salad  ( Php750 ). Though the restaurant revolves around fat-glorifying dishes, it does not mean that there are no healthier but equally filling dishes there. Take this colorful Unagi Salad for example. (Grilled Unagi / Beet Lavash / Mango / Pico de Gallo / Romaine Lettuce / Sesame Dressing / Sour Cream)

Salmon & Uni Pasta  ( Php 780 ). If there is any dish I fell in love with, this is it! I just love the clean taste emanating from this lovely seafood pasta. (Seashell Pasta / Capers / Parmesan / Arugula / 64 Degree Egg / Uni / Sous Vide Salmon / Crispy Salmon Skin)

Flourless Dark Chocolate Cake  ( Php 360 ). If the entrees are already considered wonders on their own, wait till you taste their amazing desserts. This compact chocolate cake will compete if not floor other chocolate cakes out there. Do not forget that this also flourless! (Praline Mousse / Creme Chantilly / Creme Anglaise)

White Chocolate Cheese Cake  ( Php 360 ). They all say that good things come to an end but I do not think it applies to this restaurant. This cheese cake topped with the lemon rind was a perfect combination. (Goat's Cheese / Lemon Rind Candy / Dulce de Leche)
